Who We Are
MaleFocus.com is owned and operated by MaleFocus LLC. The domain has been in our hands for more than twenty years, and we're finally putting it to work as a site for working men: the ones who build, fix, haul and keep things running, and who are tired of paying more for less.
We're a candle manufacturer with our own factory, which is why candles are part of what we do. Everything else on the site comes from the same place: practical skills, honest information and respect for a paycheck, explained the way a buddy on the job would explain it.

Who Is Jack Mercer?
Jack Mercer is the MaleFocus brand character. Think of him as the guy on the crew who shows up early, fixes it right and never pays extra for a name. He gives MaleFocus its voice: straightforward, a little dry and allergic to hype.
To be clear: Jack is a brand character, not a real person. Our guides and product information are written by the MaleFocus team.
How We Write and Label Our Guides
We keep a firm line between what we've actually used and what we've researched:
- Hands-on: we only say we tested something when a member of our team actually used it.
- Researched: when a guide is based on research rather than hands-on use, we say so.
- No made-up numbers: we don't invent reader counts, sales figures or survey results.
If you spot an error, please tell us through the contact page. We read every message and correct mistakes quickly.
How MaleFocus Makes Money
MaleFocus is free to read. To keep it that way, we plan to earn money in three ways, and we'll always be upfront about each one:
- Advertising: some pages may show ads from Google and its partners.
- Affiliate links: some guides may link to products at retailers such as Amazon. If you buy through one of those links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, MaleFocus would earn from qualifying purchases.
- Our own candles: MaleFocus candles are our own product, and we'll always say so when we mention them.
Advertisers and retailers never pay for a recommendation, and they don't get to see or change our guides before they're published.
